One die, 16 injured in road accident

Chhindwara, MP, Aug 30 (UNI) One person died and 16 were injured, nine of them seriously, when their jeep crashed into a tree near Rajana village in this district last night, police said today.

The jeep was returning from Hoshangabad to here when the incident occurred.

Basant died on the spot, while seriously injured, including jeep driver Suresh Bharukse, were sent to Nagpur for treatment. Rest of the injured were admitted to hospital.

Police said the accident took place, as the jeep driver caught a nap while driving.
