Nikkei rises as rate concerns ease, Pioneer up

Tokyo, Aug 30: The Nikkei share average rose 0.29 percent on Wednesday as shares of Pioneer Corp. and other exporters advanced, after minutes from the latest Federal Reserve meeting increased expectations the United States is likely to halt raising rates.

The Nikkei was up 30.27 points at 15,920.83 as of 0005 GMT.

The broad TOPIX index was up 0.16 percent at 1,618.61.
