NGOs shocked over NSCN(K) quit notice to Mani tribes
Imphal, Aug 30 (UNI) The Centre for Organisation Research and Education (CORE) has expressed shock over the 'Quit Notice' served by the NSCN(K) to Tangkhul tribe of Manipur to leave Nagaland.
A statement issued by the CORE here said, ''We have witnessed the fall out of the quit notice in Manipur and other North Eastern states.'' It expressed regret over the silence of the Manipur and Nagaland governments and the Centre on the issue and mentioned that reconciliation was the only path.
CORE representatives called upon the United Nations and Human Rights Council to intervene and take due cognizance of the situation.
Various other Manipuri organisations were also opposing the quit notice served to the particular Naga tribe of Manipur in Nagaland.
