New Delhi, Aug 30 (UNI) Disillusioned with what he described as the Government as well as the Opposition BJP's betrayal of the interests of people of Delhi, former state Chief Minister Madan Lal Khurana today said he would undertake a 15-day 'Delhi Bachao Yatra' to provide succour and support to the people of the Capital.

Addressing mediapersons here, Mr Khurana said,''both the Central and State Governments as well as the opposition BJP have betrayed the interests of the people of Delhi. The Centre and the Delhi Government have not put forward properly before the court of law the point of view of the people with the result that it is now facing the bulldozers.

''Therefore, to express my support to the people of Delhi, I will embark on the Delhi Bachao yatra wherein I will undertake padyatra in various areas of the city to meet the residents and traders effected by the sealing and demolition drive.'' Before embarking on the yatra, Mr Khurana would visit places of worship of different religions - while on the one hand he would visit the historical Gauri Shankar temple in Chandni Chowk and the Lal Jain Temple, he would also visit the Bishop's church, Gurudwara Sisganj and Fatehpuri Masjid.

Accompanying him on the yatra would be former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Uma Bharati.

Mr Khurana urged Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to use his Constitutional position to put a stop to all demolition and sealing activities in the Capital.

''All sealing and demolition work should be stopped till the implementation of the new Master Plan,''he said.
