Kumble to be fit before Champions Trophy : Chappell

Bangalore, Aug 30 (UNI) Team India Coach Greg Chappell today exuded confidence that ace leggie Anil Kumble would be completely fit before the Champions Trophy to be held in India in October-November.

Talking to reporters here, he said ''Kumble may not be considered for the coming Malaysian tour. Team Physio John Gloster has not yet given complete fitness certificiate for him. However, we expect him to be completely fit before the ICC Championship...the problem is not much serious.'' Kumble, who was playing for Surrey in England, was forced to cut short his stint due to tendonitis in his right shoulder. He returned home for treatement and was undergoing rehabilitation under the guidance of Gloster. Kumble had played in three Liverpool Victoria county Championship matches, three Nat-West pro-40 matches and two Twenty20 matches for Surrey.
