Bellary, Karnataka, Aug 30 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy today said he had instructed all Deputy Commissioners to effectively implement the Centrally-sponsored food-for-work scheme.

''I came to know that the villagers are migrating to other places in search of work...this should be stopped. The Government's aim is to provide two square meals a day to the rural agricultural labourers. The State is facing serious drought with the failure of monsoons,'' he said after laying the foundation stone for the second unit of Bellary Thermal Power Station in Kuditini, 40 km from here.

The State Government had been asked by the Centre to supply over two lakh tonnes of foodgrains under the scheme, he added.
