Jaish-e-Mohammad operatives remanded to judicial custody

Basirhat, Aug 30 (UNI) Two Jaish-e-Mohammad operatives, arrested here on August 14, were remanded in a day's judicial custody today by a local court.

Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM) Pallab Roy Chowdhuri remanded the Pak intruders Sohel Afzal and Zuber to the Dum Dum central jail in North 24 Parganas.

The Court also directed the police to produce both accused before the court tomorrow. It would decide on the matter of granting transit remand as Maharashtra police wanted to take them to Mumbaito interrogate them in connection with the serial blasts in the metro polis.

A four-member team of Maharashtra police arrived here this morning after negotiating with the West Bengal CID and the state police to take Sohel and Zuber to Maharashtra.
