Is Football or Cricket King of Sports: J

Srinagar, Aug 30 (UNI) ''Football and not Cricket is King of Sports'' was the subject of a debate organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Police.

An official spokesman said as part of community policing, the Jammu and Kashmir Police organised the debate in the Government Degree College, Kulgam in south Kashmir last evening.

As many as 400 students took part in the debate with 14 students speaking in favour of the topic, he added.

The spokesman said Doust Ahmad Shah and Atta-ul-Mujeed Tak were awarded a joint first prize of Rs 2000 while Zahoor Ahmad Bhat received the second prize of Rs 1,500 and Ajaz Ahmad Bhat bagged the third prize of Rs 1000.

The aim of organising such debates was to further improve the relations between the people and the police, he added.
