India to host South Asia U-17 Women's Football Championship

New Delhi, Aug 30 (UNI) India will host South Asian Football Federation's (SAFF) Under-17 Women's Championship in February next year, an Asian Football Cofederation (AFC) statement said today.

The SAFF executive committee also decided at its meeting in Colombo that Sri Lanka and Maldives will co-host the next SAFF Championship in October next year.

The opening ceremony will be held in Maldives capital of Male while the final and closing ceremony will take place in Colombo.

The meeting also decided to hold the SAFF Club Football Championship every alternate year from next year with the participation of top clubs of the eight member countries.

The SAFF general congress will be held in Male next March and a permanent SAFF office is to be set up in New Delhi, subject to a written consent from the All India Football Federation (AIFF), the statement added.
