Chandigarh, Aug 30 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has stressed the need for composite development of tri-cities of Panchkula, Chandigarh and Mohali.

The development of the tri-cities of Panchkula, Chandigarh and Mohali should be ensured as one unit, he said while speaking at a felicitation function organised by residents of Mansa Devi Complex here after inauguration of an additional direct link between Chandigarh and Mansa Devi Complex by Punjab Governor Gen (Retd) S F Rodrigues today.

The government intended to develop the prestigious city of Panchkula as a 'show piece of Haryana', he added.

The Chief Minister said there were many roads connecting Chandigarh with Mohali, but there was a dire need to have more connecting roads between the cities of Chandigarh and Panchkula. The enhanced connectivity would facilitate development of both cities.

Adequate funds, he said, would be made available for the overall development of Panchkula.
