Heavy rains in Bengal, Sikkim likely, low pressure weakening

Kolkata, Aug 30 (UNI) Rains and thunder showers are likely to occur in West Bengal and Sikkim in the next 24 hours, though the low pressure over Orissa has weakened.

The Met office sources said today that heavy rains are likely in isolated places of the state and in Sikkim.

A few spells of rains are expected in the city and the sky would remain generally cloudy, the sources said.

The maximum temperature was recorded at 31.4 degree Celsius, which is one degree below normal, while the minimum was 25.4 degree Celsius.

The rainfall recorded in last 24 hours was six mm.
