Chennai, Aug 30 (UNI) Madras High Court today directed Self-Financing Arts, Science and Management colleges to fill up seats for MBA/MCA courses as per the ratio followed last year.

Ms Justice Prabha Sridevan gave the directive after recording an undertaking given by the colleges that they would follow the ratio followed last year. She disposed of the petition filed by the Association of Self-Financing Arts, Science and Management Colleges in Tamil Nadu challenging a Government order dated July 20, 2006, that 65 per cent seats of MBA and MCA in non-minority colleges should come under government quota and the rest would be management quota. In minority colleges the percentage would be 50 per cent each.

When the matter came up, the petitioner undertook to surrender 30 per cent seats to government and the rest 70 per cent to be filled by it in case of Minority Institutions. In case of non-minority institutions, 50 per cent would be surrendered to the Government and the rest filled up by the management.
