Five arrested for manhandling woman for practicing witchcraft

Darbhanga, Aug 30 (UNI) Altogether five people, icluding a deputy Mukhiya, were arrested today for committing attrocities against a woman for allegedly practicing witchcraft.

Police said the 15-year old son of Mahavir Paswan of Darhar village died a few days back and the local panchayat held a septugenerian woman responsible for his death. Later she was beaten mercilessly and her hair cut off in full public view.

After her son filed a case, five people, including the deputy mukhiya of the village, were arrested and raids were on to nab the others.
