EMC Corp launches new initiatives for Indian partners

New Delhi, Aug 30 (UNI) U S-based EMC Corporation, an information management and storage company, today announced significant developments to strengthen its presence in India.

The company launched an enhanced EMC Velocity Partner Programme, EMC Velocity SMB Partner Programme to resell its newly introduced EMC Insignia line of SMB products, and the appointment of Select Technologies as a distributor for EMC Insignia products in India.

Redington, the regional distributor for EMC in India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, has already expanded its EMC portfolio to include the EMC Insignia products.

''With initiatives like increased rebates and partner margins, additional training opportunities, and commitment to strengthen EMC's regional Partner Support Centre and streamline internal systems and processes, the enhanced Velocity Partner Programme is intended to make it easier for the partners to work with the company,'' company spokesperson said.

The addition of EMC Velocity SMB to the present EMC Velocity Partner Program ensures that partners carrying the EMC Insignia line are rewarded for their commitment and investment, he added.

''EMC offers the broadest portfolio of information infrastructure technology and service offerings in the market, and through the launch of these initiatives, we want our partners to play a key role in bringing these strengths to our customers here in India,'' EMC Corporation Senior Vice President and EMC Asia Pacific and Japan President Steve Leonard said.

The launch of the enhanced Velocity Partner Programme and the new Velocity SMB Partner Programme are significant milestone towards strengthening and expanding the company's presence in the Indian market, EMC Country Manager (India and SAARC) Manoj Chugh said.

EMC had, in June 2006, announced that it will increase its India investment to 500 million dollars by 2010.
