Mumbai, Aug 30 (UNI) Filmmaker Nagesh Kukunoor described his new venture 'Dor' (Thread) as the most challenging and dramatic film to date.

Kukunoor, who made his debut in the film world with critically acclaimed 'Hyderabad Blues', won laurels last year for 'Iqbal'.

Talking to reporters here today, he said 'Dor', slated for release on September 22, was different from 'Iqbal' as that movie was the story of an underdog trying to find a place in Indian cricket squad, while the new movie canvases the journey of two women from different worlds and how these two sets of lives come together through a tryst of destiny.

''The film makes you ask how far you will go to save the one you love. It's a story about love, loss, friendship, hope and ultimately redemption,'' he said.

He added: '''Dor', however, at its core, as in all of my films have the human element and the simplicity of the basic emotions that bind us all.'' It is produced by Sahara One Motion Pictures in collaboration with Percept Picture Company and Sic Productions.

The film stars Ayesha Takia, Gul Panang, Shreyas Talpade, Girish Karnad and Pratiksha Lonkar.

The film's music is by Salim-Suleiman.
