DIC(K) leader T M Jacob meets KPCC President

Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 30 (UNI) Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee President Ramesh Chennithala today said Democratic Indira Congress (Karunakaran) leader and former Minister T M jacob had met him yesterday and exchanged views on the current political situation in the state.

Asked whether Mr Jacob and his followers would return to the Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF), Mr Ramesh said it was for Mr Jacob to take a decision.

Briefing mediapersons after a meeting of the KPCC executive, he said there was no proposal of merger of the DIC (K) with the Congress at present. However, "a lot of DIC(K) workers are coming to the Congress," Mr Ramesh claimed.
