Curlprits must be punished: Gaur

Bhopal, Aug 30 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Commerce and Industries Minister Babulal Gaur today said strict action must be taken against culprits responsible for the death of Ujjain's Madhav College professor Harbhajan Singh Sabharwal.

''A clash could have been avoided had the police administration acted with due diligence,'' Mr Gaur told UNI here.

However, he refused to call the incident police failure and described it as mismanagement.

Asserting that the rule of law prevailed in the state, Mr Gaur said it was the responsibility of the administration to prevent a person from taking law into his hands.

''It's not yet clear who carried out the attack,'' Mr Gaur said, adding that the college management should have not provided such an important responsibility of student election to a heart patient.

The former CM said students must learn a lesson from the incident and protest peacfefully.
