Chappell to concentrate on fitness of individual players
Bangalore, Aug 30 (UNI) Team India Coach Greg Chappell today introduced an innovative training drill to assess and improve the performance of the players in the run-up to the tri-series in Kuala Lumpur.
Introducing a new concept of 'Rolling Camp', Chappell started working on five key players including vice-captain Virender Shewag for first three days.
Talking to reporters Chappell said that his intention was to make the players match fit and hence he has taken the innovative format.
Chappell said that after leadership and team development camps before the rain washed series in Sri Lanka, the current camp was a natural corollary. During the Camp attention would be devoted on rectifying the shortcomings of the players.
''The rationale behind the 'Rolling Camp' was that we had two camps before leaving for Sri Lanka about leadership and team development. This camp was about developing individual players'' he added.
