Chamling requests Centre to include one more project under NLCPR

Gangtok, Aug 30(UNI) Sikkim Chief Minister Pawan Chamling today called upon Union Minister for DONER, P R Kyndiah and requested him to include the Pakyong-Machong Rolep-Rongli Road (35 km), in East Sikkim, in the list of projects for possible funding under Non Lapsable Central Poll Resources(NLCPR).

Mr Chamling also met the Cabinet Secretary and requested him to direct the Ministry of Home Affairs to arrange central funding for the construction of new Raj Bhawan building here at the earliest.

Vice-President Bhairon Singh Sekhawat recently had laid the foundation stone for construction of the new Raj Bhawan at an estimated cost of Rs 12 crore.

Mr Chamling also requested the Cabinet Secretary to provide a double engine chopper with 11 to 13 seater capacity to the state as the existing one had failed to meet the rising demand.
