Carrying pistol by former Union Min creats flutter at airport
Chennai, Aug 30 (UNI) Former Union Minister C M Ibrahim created a flutter among security personnel at the Kamaraj domestic airport here as he was carrying a licensed pistol.
Airport sources said Mr Ibrahim came to the airport last night to board the Bangalore-bound Kingfisher airline flight. The security personnel noticed the pistol in the suitcase and objected to it as per aviation rules which stipulates that no one is allowed to carry firearms on board.
The security personnel allowed Mr Ibrahim to leave for Bangalore after an undertaking that he will produce the pistol license and other documents to the securitymen.
Following this, the flight was delayed, the sources added.
