Cabinet gives green signal to sugar complex

Patna, Aug 30 (UNI) Bihar government today sanctioned installation of a sugar complex worth Rs 122.40 crore to be set up in Nalanda district by Messers S B Overseas Limited, Kolkata.

Cabinet Secretary A K Chauhan told newspersons here that Bihar cabinet sanctioned the project which apart from sugar would also produce 30 Kilo litres of alcohol and generate 8 MW electricity every day.

He said the cabinet sanctioned 16 other proposals under which it gave green signal for amending the Luxary Tax Act 1988 in the hotels of Bihar. With this the upcoming new hotels in the state would be exempted from luxary tax for the first seven years.

The cabinet approved one year extention to the expenditure of about Rs 22 lakhs on the scheme for consitution of Child labour commission.
