'Bhoomi Pooja' for medical college held in Pondy

Pondicherry, Aug 30 (UNI) The 'bhoomi pooja' (ground breaking ceremony) for the construction of the Rs 234 crore Pondicherry Government Medical College began here today.

Chief Minister N Rangasamy participated in the function held at Kadirgamam in his Thattanchavady Constituency.

The construction of the medical college building and hospital building is expected to be completed in about 15 months.

The administration is expecting to commence the first year MBBS classes in the next accademic year.
