Anjum Chopra misses ton by a whisker, India 307 all out
London, Aug 30 (UNI) Wicket-keeper batswoman Anjum Chopra fell just two runs short of a deserving hundred as India eves were all out for 307 in their first innings on the second day of the second and final Test against England at County Ground at Tauton today.
Chopra's 98 came from 298 balls and she struck only nine fours in her defiant knock.
Resuming the day at 168 for two, not out overnight batsman Mithali Raj could just add one run to his individual score and eight runs to the team total when the Indian captain was dismissed by J L Gunn for 65.
Chopra then carried on and held the innings together but was out to I T Guha for 98. She was the sixth batswoman out when team score was 273.
For England IT Guha was the most successful bowler with four for 61.
England were nine for one in reply in 6.3 overs when reports last came in with Jhulan Goswami removing England opener L K Newton for nought.
