41 SAIL employees get Vishwakarma Rashtriya Puraskar
New Delhi, Aug 30 (UNI) Fourty-one Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) employees from various parts of the country have been selected for the coveted Vishwakarma Rashtriya Puraskar for the year 2005.
Out of the 28 groups in all a 10 groups from SAIL comprising 41 employees were bestowed with the honour, a company statement issued here said today.
The awards will be presented to the winners here on September 17.
Among the SAIL winners, 35 employees hail from Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP), four from Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP), and two from Salem Steel Plant (SSP).
The total cash prize for all the SAIL award winners works out to be Rs 2.10 lakh.
Divided into three categories, the Vishwakarma Awards are distributed every year by the Ministry of Labour, on the auspicious day of Vishwakarma Puja.
The awards are given to employees of industrial undertakings, mines, plantations and docks in recognition of their outstanding innovative contributions leading to improvement in productivity in their own area of work, the release added.
