2,400 metric tonne rice seized in AP
Ongole, Andhra Pradesh, Aug 30 (UNI) Police has seized 2,400 metric tonnes of rice worth more than Rs three crore while it was being loaded into 40 wagons at Chirala railway station in Prakasham district here today.
Police said the rice, suspected to be either allocated to PDS or for the Food for Work Programme was seized when the labourers were loading it to tranport them to Assam under the name of Chirala Rice Millers Association.
