13 bogies of Jammu-bound Lohit Express derails

Lucknow, Aug 30: Thirteen bogies of Jammu-bound 5651 Up Lohit Express derailed near Hardoi station under Moradabad railway division yesterday night.

None of the passengers, however, received any injuries as the train was moving on a low speed.

Moradabad Divisional Railway Manager (DMR), Azijul Haq, here said, the accident occurred at 2120 hrs at Kauri, just near Hardoi railway station. He called it a minor incident and said thirteen bogies went off the track.

However, he said the cause of the accident is still awaited.

Senior railway officials have reached the spot to analyse the situation there.

Rail traffic on the route has been affected as the trains are being passed through the same track. Trains to be affected includes Kashi Vishwanath Express, Sadbhavana Nauchandi Express and others, Mr Haq added.
