Police find 10 bodies in Baghdad school yard

BAGHDAD, Aug 29: Police today found the bodies of 10 men, handcuffed and blindfolded, dumped in the yard of a school in western Baghdad, police said.

The discovery of the bodies, many bearing signs of torture, has become a typical feature of bloodshed gripping Iraq.

The identities of the victims were not immediately known, police said. A US general yesterday said violence in Baghdad had dropped by nearly half since July after US-led forces launched an operation to pacify the capital.
