Nitin Gadkari demands Shivraj Patil's resignation
Mumbai, Aug 29: Maharashtra state BJP president Nitin Gadkari, today lambasted Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil and demanded his resignation for his stand against Maharashtra, in it's border-dispute with Karnataka, which is currently in the Supreme Court.
Talking to reporters here, Mr Gadkari said the UPA government has Maratha leaders like Shivraj Patil and Sharad Pawar who actually sympathise with Karnataka, in the Maharashtra-Karnataka border-dispute issue. He recalled that when the Maharashtra legislature had passed the resolution to merge the disputed border territory with the state, Patil himself was the speaker of the assembly.
He further said that the Union Government should not have supported Karnataka, but, remained neutral in the Supreme Court. Now the state will have to intervene and fight it's side by employing lawyers, he rued.
Gadkari also threatened to launch an agitation against Patil on the issue.
