New CEO takes over for BHEL unit

Hyderabad, Aug 29: Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) Group General Manager G V Rami Reddy today took over as the Chief Executive of the BHEL's Ramachandrapuram unit.

Mr Reddy who holds a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati, joined BHEL 34 years ago as an engineer trainee.

Earlier, he was heading BHEL's Corporate Project Engineering Management Group. Mr Reddy took over the charge from Executive Director C P Singh who was transferred to Delhi on promotion, a BHEL release said here.

Mr Reddy had successfully executed EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Commissioning) contract for Petroleum Development, Oman at Hubara Site during 1998-2001, which was the first desert field unmanned power station controlled from a central control room situated 600 kms away.

He was also instrumental in the Gas Technology Transfer Agreement with General Electric, USA in 1984 and played lead role in establishing the manufacturing and testing facility of gas turbines of GE design.

Mr Reddy was trained at Siemens of Germany in Project Thermal Calculations of Industrial Steam Turbines.
