15 TRS MLAs suspended from AP assembly
Hyderabad, Aug 29: Fifteen MLAs of the Telangana Rashtra Samiti were suspended from the Andhra Pradesh Assembly by Speaker K R Suresh Reddy for disrupting the proceedings for the fifth consecutive day today.
The MLAs demanded debate on their adjournment motion and a resolution in the House recommending the Centre to form a separate Telangana state.
The TRS members rushed into the well of the House and raised slogans to press their demand even as the Speaker appealed to them to take their seats and facilitate normal conduct of the proceedings.
As the TRS members continued to stage protest in the well of the House, the Speaker named them. Legislative Affairs Minister K Rosaiah moved the resolution for suspension of the TRS members for the Day under sub-rule 2 of rule 300 of the Assembly proceedings, which was approved by voice vote.
As the TRS members continued their protest even after their suspension, the Speaker called the marshals, who bodily removed the protesting TRS MLAs from the House. Soon after the House assembled for the day, the TRS members, led by former minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy, trooped into the well of the House holding placards as the Speaker announced disallowing of the adjournment motion notice given by six parties, including the TRS.
TRS floor leader G Vijaya Rama Rao urged the Speaker to let him express his party's view on the issue.
While the TDP wanted a discussion on the Krishna water issue.
CPI and CPI(M) members wanted suspension of the regular proceedings for a discussion on the Chikungunya epidemic.
BSP leader Raja Rao gave notice for a discussion on the illegal detention of two Dalit youth by the Mahbubnagar police, while BJP floor leader G Kishen Reddy raised the issue of the Government Order allegedly restricting the jurisdiction of Tirumala-Tirupati Devasthanam. Janata party member K Ramulu wanted to raise the problems of beedi workers.
