Sumi Hoho, NSCN-K to review June 14 accord

Kohima, Aug 28: The Sumi Hoho, the apex tribal body of Sumi tribe of Nagaland, met the leaders of NSCN(K) at the latter's headquarters recently and decided to review the June 14 cease-fire agreement signed by both the faction of NSCN and forge ahead with their efforts for peace and reconciliation.

According to Sumi Hoho release issued by President H S Rotokha and General Secretary Aheto V Yepthomi here today, during the meeting the Sumi delegation appealed to the NSCN (K) leadership for furtherance of the peace process among various factions as desired by the Nagas and necessitated for congenial atmosphere.

The delegation of Sumi Hoho also had a threadbare discussion with the council of kilonsers on June 14 cease-fire agreements agreed by both the factions of NSCN in the Sumi dominated areas. The delegation also had a separate meeting with the NSCN(K) Ato Kilonser (Prime Minister) Kitovi Zhimomi.

The NSCN (K) authority had invited the Sumi Hoho and other frontal Sumi organisations to its headquarters for deliberation and also to seek clarification on the June 14 cease-fire agreement.

The delegation acknowledged and expressed gratitude to Konyak Union President Tingnei Konyak and his colleagues, Church Staff, Village Council fo Monyakshu, President of Tobu area Gaon Burahs (Village Headmen) Association, Deputy Commissioner of Mon, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Tobu, police department for providing security and other public leaders and organizations for their concern and affection during their visit to the NSCN (K) headquarters.
