Jadonang birth anniversary to be celebrated

Imphal, Aug 28 (UNI) Birth anniversary of Haipou Jadonang will be celebrated in Manipur tomorrow and his birth place at Kambiron, Tamenglong district by various organisations.

A statue will also be commemorated at Imphal where he was hanged.

The 75th Death Anniversary of the freedom fighter will be organised at various places of Imphal also. The Britishers had hanged him for waging war against the Britishers.

In Manipur and other NE states there are large numbers of followers of Jadonang and Rani Gaidinliu the great freedom fighter was one of his disciple. He was a religious and social reformer who stood against the British assault and policies in Manipur.
