90 people die of Malaria

Aizawl, Aug 28 (UNI) At least 90 people died of Malaria in Mizoramm in the last eight mionths.

Inter Media Publicity Campaign Committee here today revealed that more malaria cases have been detected in the state during the period in comparison to previous years.

90 death cases were registered in the health department record.

The meeting was informed that the main reason behind the deaths was lack of response to drugs distribution centres which have been placed in all villages in malaria prone areas.

Referring the instance of Marpara village of Mamit district in Western Mizoram about 1000 malaria cases were detected, but no deaths occurred because the patients had been religious in taking the prescribed dosage, it claimed.
