SUCI criticises industrial policy of Left Front

Kolkata, Aug 27 (UNI) The Socialist Unity Centre of India (SUCI) will observe a statewide ''Protest Day'' tomorrow against the industrial policy of the ruling Left Front in West Bengal.

In a strongly worded statement here today, party spokesman G Gupta lambasted the state government for allegedly depriving the livelihood of many hapless farmers by ''snatching'' their fertile agricultural land for the sake of industry.

In order to protest this move, the SUCI had decided to observe a statewide protest day tommorw when a number of protest marches would be organised in different areas, the party spokesman said.
