Akron, Ohio, Aug 27 (UNI) A poor back nine once again proved to be Shiv Kapur's bane as he carded a disappointing two-over 72 to slip further down to tied 63rd after the penultimate round of the 7.5 million dollar Bridgestone Invitational European PGA Tour World Golf Championship here.

Shiv managed two birdies against four bogeys to accumulate a three-day total of nine-over 219.

The Indian, who has not looked in good touch in the tournament so far and had just about managed to make the halfway cut, started with a birdie on the second hole but successive bogeys on the sixth and seventh pulled him back.

Shiv managed to gain a shot on the eighth to make the turn at level-par. However, the Indian's backward journey once again cost him dearly and he ended up dropping bogeys on the 14th and 18th to drop further down the leaderboard.

The bogey on the 18th was especially disappointing and if Shiv had managed a level-par shot, he could have seen himself go up to the tied 59th spot along with, among others, South African Retief Goose at the Firestone Country Club.

Meanwhile, American Stewart Cink fired a sensational third round 64 to move into the sole lead with a three-day total of six-under 201. Englishman Paul Casey followed Cink a shot behind after firing a 69 along with overnight leader Tiger Woods (64).
