Pak national held at Vadodara station with fake passport

Vadodara, Aug 27 (UNI) The Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel have arrested a 20-year-old Pakistani youth moving in a suspicious manner at the Vadodara railway station here.

The youth identified as Amir Sohail, a resident of Rajajung village in Kasuri district under Punjab province, was found to be not in possession of any train ticket but a passport belonging to a Pakistani lady.

According to Senior RPF commandant Atul Srivastava, the Pak youth was nabbed on the platform number one by an RPF team on night duty yesterday, after it got suspicious about his movements.

Sohail, who initially tried to mislead the security personnel by giving them a fake name and address, later succumbed to ntensive interrogation and admitted that he was a Pakistani national and had crossed over to India by the Samjhauta Express on August 25 with the passport of a lady.

Mr Srivastava said that after illegally crossing the Wagah border, Sohail boarded a general coach of the the Mumbai-bound frontier Mail at Amritsar and got off at Vadodara station at around 2315 hrs last night. But minutes later, he was caught by the RPF mobile team when he failed to produce any railway ticket and fumbled in answering queries.

Following a thorough search of his baggage, police seized the fake passport, a mobile and a Pakistani sim card.

Sohail, who denied that he had link with any terrorists outfits either in Pakistan or India, said he fled to India after attacking his father with an axe, who allegedly had illicit relations with his daughter.
