NTPC Kaniha Plant executives to join nation-wide strike
Talcher, Aug 27 (UNI) Over 500 executives working in NTPC Kaniha Power Plant will go on an agitation from Tuesday, a day after Prime Minister Manmohan Singh dedicate to the nation the largest thermal power plant in the country.
The executives would join the agitation with their counterparts in other NTPC units across the country to press for fulfilment of their three-point charter of demands.
A decision to this effect was taken at the executive body meeting of Association of Power Executives (APEX) at Kaniha previous Saturday.
The demands included, among other things, merger of 50 per cent DA with basic pay, financial autonomy of PSUs and removal of monetary ceiling on gratuity.
The stir would culminate on September 12 with one-day token strike all over India, APEX General Secretary P Mandal said.
