Monsoons in full vigour in most parts of the country

Pune, Aug 27 (UNI) The southwest monsoon has been vigorous in east Uttar Pradesh and active over Bihar. It has been subdued over west Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat state, central Maharashtra, Marathwada, Vidarbha, Telangana, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala and Laksahdweep.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at most places in sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Gangetic west Bengal, Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, east Uttar Pradesh, and at many places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Uttaranchal, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Konkan, Goa and coastal Andhra Pradesh.

Rain or thundershowers are also likely to occur at a few places in western Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Gujarat, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Andaman Nicobar and Lakshadweep islands and at isolated places in Rajasthan, Vidarbha, Saurashtra, Kutch, Marathwada, Rayalaseema and interior Karnataka.
