Kannur lifts senior Taekowondo Championship

Kannur, Kerala, Aug 29 (UNI) Hosts Kannur district lifted the Eighth Kerala Senior Taekwondo Championship, which concluded at Payyannur in the district today.

Kannur annexted the title with 75 points, while Malappuram District bagged the second place with 63 points, pushing Thiruvananthapuram to the third spot, as they managed to get only 53 points.

In the boys category, too, Kannur dominated and won the title with 58 points, while Thiruvananthapuram had to remain contend with the second spot with 52 points.

In the girls cateogry Kollam district won the title with 42 points and Idukku walked away with the second prize with 19 points.

Following were the individual gold winners: Boys: Sil weight: Gulam Mohammad Rawatar (Thiruvananthapuram), Fly weight: Prakash IT (Kasaragod), Patom weight: Mansoor P M V (Kannur), Feather weight: Mukesh U (Thiruvananthapuram), Heavy weight: Murali A (Kannur) and Heavy weight: Hyderali S (Palakkad).

Girls: Sil weight: Ramya R (Palakkad), Fly weight: Ligi S (Kollam), Pantom weight: Steffi M George (Idukki), Feather weight: Jaseera (Thiruvananthapuram) and Light weight: Vilu P Augustine (Kasaragod).
