Dubai, Aug 27 (UNI) A pair of twins, separated from their Indian parents who are languishing in Saudi Arabian police custody for more than a month in connection with a murder, will be sent to their grandparents in Kerala.

The parents Roy Joseph and Biji Thomas, who are in police custody while police are investigating the death of their Nepalese maid, were arrested on July 8 in Riyadh, media reports said.

The nineteen-month-old toddlers Kesiya Roy and Albert Roy, now being looked after by family friends, were unable to travel as their passports were with the local authorities holding the parents in detention.

Jospeh was working as a draftsman with the Binladen Group, and his wife Thomas, a staff nurse at King Khalid University Hospital, Saudi Gazette said.

An Indian embassy official, said that they have so far not received consular access to the detained couple, adding that they were in touch with the children's grandparents in Kerala and informed them about arrangements for the twins' return.

A group of eight Indian umbrella organisations, which are seeking a meeting with Indian Ambassador M O H Farook, said they are urging for the quick release of the detained couple, who are suffering from acute mental depression.

Their condition is so bad that the mother could not even recognise her children in the hospital, sources said.

Police arrested the Indian couple after their Nepalese maid, who was hired by them, after she had run away from her previous employers, was found dead on July 7.
