Court directs couple in harassment case to be produced by Sept 12

Kochi, Aug 27 (UNI) A lower court has directed the ''Niyama Sahaya Vedi'' to produce in court by September 12 the woman who was allegedly harassed by State Public Works Minister P J Joseph on board a Chennai-Kochi flight earlier this month.

The first class judicial magistrate, Aluva, directed that the woman and her husband be produced for recording their statement.

''Niyama Sahaya Vedi'' chairman Stephen Rozario had moved a petition before the magistrate, seeking direction to the police to register a case against the minister and the pilot of the private airliner.

Meanwhile, Inspector General B Sandhya, directed by the Chief Minister to inquire into the allegation, has begun her probe into the matter.
