Bhagwat Gita, Vedas get colour from nature's beauty

New Delhi, Aug 27 (UNI) The nature has in it the 'truth' of the Almighty, which many poets, authors or intellectuals have tried to explain in various scriptures since time immemorial.

Lot many efforts had been put to simplify these philosophical literatures to spread the divine message, which these books contain, among the masses.

And now, as a new addition to these efforts, the essence of the Bhagwat Gita and Vedas has been enhanced by the beauty of nature in two compilations of photographer Ashok Dilwali.

Titled the 'Sayings from the Bhagwat Gita' and the 'Sayings from the Vedas', both the books carry 51 pictures of the divine beauty of the Himalayas and the valued 'Shalokas' (verses) from epics juxtaposed on either side of the pages.

Published by Niyogi Offset Pvt Ltd, the books are aimed at providing the readers an insight into the Bhagwat Gita and the Vedas in three languages -- Sanskrit, Hindi and English. ''The Books contain the much valuable verses from the scriptures,'' the author said.

''My aim was to give a new treatment to the religious books,'' Mr Dilwali, who has been capturing different moods of the nature for the last three decades, told UNI.

''Religious books and epics, being philosophical in nature are not easy to understand at one go, and also people do not have time to go through them. So often they leave it (books) half-way through before a complete reading,'' he said.

In these two books, the author has blended the essence of the Vedas and the Bhagwat Gita with the hidden beauty of the nature to make them attractive to the readers.

''The books contain a very nice collection of pictures depicting the power of nature, which has created such beautiful things on earth,'' Mr Dilwali said.

''Pictures give these books an added value and also make verses attractive to the readers,'' he added.

The publishers have plans to promote these books abroad, especially targeting the NRIs. ''We will promote these books in foreign countries. We are also going to come up with their translated editions in German and French languages,'' said Mr Bikash D Niyogi, the MD of Niyogi Books.

The books, in coated paper back, are priced at Rs 295 each.
