Superfast charges not to be levied on season ticket-holders

Mumbai, Aug 26 (UNI) Superfast surcharges will not be levied on season ticket holders travelling by superfast trains from September one, according to western railway sources.

Superfast surcharges will not be levied on the season ticket holders travelling by trains which have total journey of less than 325 kms.

However, superfast surcharge will continued to be levied on single journey ticket holders travelling by such trains, official sources said.

In the case of superfast trains, where the total journey is 325 km or more, the season ticket holders and other ticket holders will continue to pay the superfast surcharge.

No refund will be granted to those persons who have already purchased monthly/quarterly superfast surcharge tickets, officials added.
