Smugglers injured in exchange of fire

Mysore, Aug 26 (UNI) Three smugglers received bullet injuries in an exchange of fire with Karnataka forest guards at at Meteguppe forest area in K D Kote taluk of Mysore District in early hours today.

Forest officials said the guards led by Anil Kumar opened firing they saw smugglers cutting a tree in the range. In retaliation the smugglers also fired at the guards and made good their escape.

One of the injured could have succumbed to the injuries, the officials suspect as they saw blood stains on the spot.
