Six Bangladeshi peacekeepers killed in Ivory Coast accident

Dhaka, Aug 26 (UNI) Six Bangladeshi troops working with UN Peacekeeping Mission in Ivory Coast (ONUCI) have been killed and twelve others seriously injured in a road accident at Tiasali on way to Abidjan from Yamasukro.

The accident occurred yesterday as the driver of the vehicle carrying the soldiers lost control, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) release said here today.

Those killed are, Lance Corporal SM Miraz Ahmed (20 Field Regiment Artillery), Lance Corporal M Abdus Sattar (6 Field Regiment Artillery), Sainik Abdul Halim (27 Field Regiment Artillery), Sainik Mohammad Kamruzzaman Khan (36 Air Defence Regiment Artillery), Sainik Mohammad Shahid Mia (32 Field Regiment Artillery) and Sainik M Mizanur Rahman (24 Field Regiment Artillery).

The injured, two of them critically, were admitted to a local hospital, the release said.
