Rio eyes air and rail links with Kohima
Chiephobozou, Nagaland, Aug 26 (UNI) Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has said the detailed survey of proposed Ciethu Airport under Kohima district was under process and the state Government had already handed over Rs one crore to the Airport Authority of India (AAI).
Addressing a gathering here yesterday on the occasion of upgradation of administrative headquarters of Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), office building of Block Development Officer (BDO) and District Inspector of School (DIS), Mr Rio said a survey of railway route, including Niuland-Zhadima-New Secretariat Complex and Kohima-Imphal-Kiphire, to the state capital was completed.
It was reported that the Railway Ministry had informed that it was in an advanced stage of implementation and all necessary survey works had already been completed.
Mr Rio said his Democratic Alliance of Nagaland (DAN) Government had embarked on developmental works throughout the state and claimed that there was uplift on all fronts during the three and half year-regime.
Highlighting on the Government's focus on the backward areas in the state, Mr Rio said Rs 76 crore had been earmarked for road development in Mon, Tuensang, Longleng and Kiphire districts.
Minister of School Education L Imkong Imchen, Minister of Rural Development Noke Konyak and Minister of Planning and Urban Development Shurhozelie also spoke on the occasion.
