Judicial commission gives clean chit on Amarnath ice lingam

Jammu, Aug 26 (UNI) The one-member Judicial Commission probing the controversy of man-made ice shivlingam at holy Amarnath cave shrine today gave a clean chit to Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB).

The priests of Mattan and Ganesh Pura, who had visited the cave shrine before the annual yatra began, might have ''shaped'' the lingam, Justice(retd) K K Gupta said in his 90-page report submitted to Jammu and Kashmir Governor Lt Gen S K Sinha this morning.

However, no clinching evidence was available to establish this claim.

Giving a clean chit to the SASB, he said a smaller lingam was formed from May 19 due to a ''miracle or divine intervention''.
