Jamal Mohammed College, Trichy beat S N College, Kollam

Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 26 (UNI) Jamal Mohammed College, Trichy,. beat S N College, Kollam, 3-0, in the inaugural match of the Fourth Dhyan Chand Memorial South Zone Inter-collegiate Hockey Tournament at the Lakshmibai National College of Physical Education, Kariyavattom, near here today.

Saravanan scored two goals and Erraj completed the tally for the winners.

Eleven teams including last year's winner Department of Physical Education, Annamalai University, and runner-up YMCA College of Physical Education, Chennai, would participate in the three-day event.

Besides the top teams of last year, other teams that will take part in the tournament are Jamal Mohammed College (Trichy), SN College (Kollam), University College (Thiruvananthapuram), St Albert's College (Ernakulam), Fatima Matha National College (Kollam), St. John's College (Palayamkottai) UC College (Aluva), and host LNCPE.

The event will be held on a knock-out basis and the semifinals will be played on August 28 and the final on August 29.
