Court rejects anticipatory bail of DIG

Hajipur, Aug 26 (UNI) A Sessions Court here today rejected the anticipatory bail application of DIG (Railway) Ajay Verma in connection with a criminal case.

Verma is evading arrest since a non-bailable arrest warrant was issued for him by a local court.

Earlier, retired school teacher Rajendra Rai had lodged a complaint with Town police station in Hajipur on January 24 alleging the DIG was interfering in his family matter over a dispute.

Following demands of Sampa Verma, wife of the DIG, the Bihar government instituted a fresh probe into the entire episode.

Meanwhile, Ms Verma has alleged that IG (Muzaffarpur) Suneet Kumar was threatening her on telephone.
