Badrinath, Badani on run riot, SPIC-TNCA XI on strong wicket

Chennai, Aug 26 (UNI) Boundary-filled centuries by S Badrinath (121) and former India player Hemang K Badani (105), propelled SPIC-TNCA XI to a massive 336 runs for six at close on the opening day of the semifinals against Andhra in the Mindteck All India Buchi Babu Cricket Tournament here today.

Electing to bat first on a placid wicket, opener M Vijay struck a breezy half century (52, 65 balls, 10x4) before Badrinath and Badani came together to help the team reach the huge total in 80 overs before rain brought an early end to the day's play with ten overs remaining.

Badrinath (121, 199 balls, 11x4, 1x6) and Badani (105, 137 balls, 13x4, 2x6) added 189 for the third wicket in 44.3 overs to help the team pile up runs.

For Andhra, left arm spinner Y Laxman Kishore and Y Venugopala Rao claimed two wickets each.
